JBL Denitrol Aquarium Starter/Booster contains a concentrated solution of live beneficial filter bacteria to reduce ammonia and nitrite within an aquarium. Using highly efficient autotrophic bacteria strains JBL Denitrol allows for the immediate stocking of an aquarium.

The use of a filter starter/booster is highly recommend when setting up a new aquarium as it is no use simply waiting for a healthy bacterial population to grow, as hardly any beneficial bacteria will develop in a new tank without water pollution. Bacteria only react and reproduce when they have a lot of food (NH4, NO2).

Nature at Home
Fish need to be as comfortable in the aquarium as they are in nature. When setting up an aquarium and during partial water changes the aquarium needs sufficient bacteria to be biologically cleaned and to quickly break down harmful substances. Bacterial starters contain highly active beneficial bacteria which break down the ammonium/ammonia and nitrite as well as the fish excrement and other waste in the aquarium water.

Opinions vary as to whether fish can be added as early as one day after the aquarium set-up. Microbiologists have observed that bacteria reproduce very slowly in a new aquarium when there is no water pollution (nutrition for bacteria). But if you add fish the next day without using a bacterial starter, problems with ammonium/ammonia can occur, because the bacteria reproduce too slowly to keep pace with the production of pollutants. When using JBL Denitrol, higher quantities of bacteria are present. The next day, after the first fish have been added, there is food for the bacteria and they start to reproduce. This will make sure that there are always enough bacteria, so that neither ammonium/ammonia nor nitrite can become a problem.

Dosage:
Use: 10ml for 20L of water during the initial setup and with disease, 10ml for 300L of water during water changes.

Palletised Deliveries

Some large oversize products, typically items weighing more than 30kg, may require delivery via pallet and as such will arrive as a kerbside delivery only. The drivers in these instances are unfortunately not permitted to assist with the pallet beyond the drop off, and cannot aid in bringing packages into the property.

Returns

If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase from Pond Planet, you may return the product(s) to us within 14 days of the purchase date for a refund or exchange.

Goods must be returned in perfect and unused condition, in their original packaging. The buyer must ensures that the goods are securely and adequately packed to avoid damage and the purchaser pays all postage costs. We recommend that products are returned by recorded delivery or by a carrier that requires a signature. Pond Planet accepts no responsibility for goods returned to us unless signed proof can be provided.
